I hope this morning finds you weekending in the most pleasant ways. You can find me sitting on the cozy couch by the window, with my knitting basket, warm tea in hand, with books, and some cold weather comfort food bubbling on the stovetop. I hope your weekend has offered you this and more.
Last night, I finally blocked my latest completed shawl, and earlier in the day, I managed to finished a dress from 100 Acts of Sewing. (I love Sonya's easy, no worry patterns. Each comes packaged in a cute brown bag, with a small booklet of instructions, and good quality paper for the patterns.) It being my first, there were a few errors, but I ended up with a little dress/tunic to wear about, and there are pockets! Oh yes to pockets!
I mentioned my night shift job in a recent post, but what I didn't mention is how awful I have found it to sleep my days away, and I'll be frank, my job overworks their staff. (I know, so do a lot of jobs.) I also never mentioned any New Year resolutions this year, because my resolutions were more like quiet contemplations, thoughts from the heart really, about what needed to be done. But one day recently, I pulled out the small notebook I keep in my purse and wrote, "find a new job" at the top of the page. When that idea really soaked in, I chose a date in my planner and penciled in, "give notice today". I knew for those two goals to be reached I'd have to apply for new jobs, and even worse, interview. So even though I was working 4 out of the following 5 nights, and 12 hour shifts, I put mind over matter, and managed to apply, squeeze in phone interviews, two person to person interviews, and get a new job...off night shift, with less required hours than I've been working, and so close to home I could actually ride my bike. The reason I'm sharing all this is mainly to say, now I have dates with my camera penciled in my planner, during the day, and I know I will feel awake, and I'll be bringing new and updated photography here to share with you! Yay! I'll be finishing up nights this week:)
This morning I'll be completing another shawl from last year, the Shaelyn. I'll be glad to finish this one up. I think it's time to start something new.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead dear sweet friends. Time to celebrate love! xo Jeannine
