Happy Monday to you! The sun is shining and it’s the first day of summer vacation for the kids. I just love it when they are home and there is nothing on the schedule. Our summer days are filled with “What shall we do today?” moments, and it’s a feeling I never get tired of. I know too well, how fast they will be heading to college, so I appreciate every moment they are home with me.
I am slowwwly recovering and because I’ve been under the weather, sadly, there has not been any project progress and I really have been missing my crafts. But this morning, I realized there was a bowl of lemons in the kitchen...
And although the blueberries in the yard are not ready to eat, there was a pint of blueberries that I bought from the market yesterday. And when life gives me a bowl of lemons and blueberries...
I go straight to one of my family’s favorite recipes, Blueberry Lemon Cake With Lemon Glaze. Originally written for a bundt cake, which is how I most often make it; today I made it in two loaf pans, so I can easily take some to work with me later in the week.
A few areas around where I live have native wildflower gardens and they are often my favorites….
So then, would you like the recipe for this cake? Just remember that the recipe really needs to be doubled or it will only make one loaf or a very small bundt cake. I doubled each ingredient and it works perfectly each time:)

I haven’t really mentioned the pets here at Stone Cottage, but there are a few and we love them dearly. This is Rose, “Nolan’s Cat.” She prefers to be outdoors, but does sneak in to sleep in a favorite drawer in Jordan’s room every once in a while. If we can’t find Rose, we know where to look.
