Hello! How are you? I’m happy to be back visiting today after several days of working away from home. As I drove home from work last night, and only a few miles from home, a sixteen-year-old girl who didn’t pause before a turn, crashed into my car as I drove through an intersection. I’m quite sore, but very grateful to have walked away from it, and I wish I could tell her how happy I am to know she and her friend were not hurt. When the police told me she was only sixteen, I calmed my frustration. My son is sixteen, (I remember younger me,) and I know how little experience they have. I do wish that young people knew, that such a rush will not get them anywhere better in this life. That the ride and friendship, is so much more enjoyable, when time is taken to enjoy each other.
I’ve been taking inventory of my works in progress. This is not all of my works in progress of course, but these are the ones I want to finish before summer ends, and before I move on to winter knits like vests, (Yes please!), and cardigans. Oh sweet cardigans!
We are leaving Thursday morning for vacation, and I’ve been wondering which project to take along with me. Although we don’t plan to check any luggage. I’ll admit I did wonder, if my family would take notice, of one small suitcase full of yarn (who would need to know), sitting among the bags! Just a fleeting thought. Because while I’m happy to be going on vacation with my family, I am a little nervous about leaving home, and the peace I have here. Afterall, who among us wants to leave our yarn? And then there are the crowds, airports, and planes! Oh the thought! Such a homebody am I. I used to have dreams of great travel, but not so much anymore. How wonderful it is now, that home has become the only destination I truly desire.
Thinking about what would be appropriate to take with me then, and after a little less hysterical thinking, I’ve decided the Teasdale shawl, and perhaps some socks will make the trip.
Well then my dear friends, how about a little tour to celebrate the colors of summer, and to get us back into the swing of the things?
Have a beautiful week and a lovely day. No matter how big the trip or how small, I’m praying for blessings, and safe travel for you all. Love, Jeannine
To the friends who have written me in the past few days. Please know I am sorry for the delayed response. I hope to write just as soon as I have a little time to visit with my family and recover just a bit from my weekend. xo
