This morning, while Jordan was still asleep, I looked in the freezer and saw three half bags of berries; blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. (I try to buy extra and freeze them when they are on sale.) I thought about making a berry cake, but didn’t think there was quite enough berries, and I’m out of lemons for that particular recipe. So, I whipped up these little scones and I’m glad I did. They are really delicious, and I’m always happy when I can use things I have here at home, without a trip to the store, to make something tasty for the family. Jordan loves fruit and berries, so as he woke up, I told him there were berry scones downstairs with drizzle. He responded with “Realllly!” and he was on his way!
So now as I visit with you, I’m relaxing with my knitting and enjoying piping hot tea. It’s so dark and cloudy today, that I’ve had to take photos on the little table in the corner, with a lamp, in order to properly share with you. The weather man says this will all move out today and it will be sunny. I’ll be waiting, because as much as I love a good cloudy knitting day, I do need to clean house today, and would prefer not to do it in the dark.
I’ve been thinking it’s time to start a new quilt top and I don’t really have a pattern in mind, but I do know it will be one that is both simple and quick. My goal is to sew something bright and cheery, so the pattern isn’t too important to me. I love just about every type of quilt. I’ll let you know when I get started.
Well dear friends, until next time then. Jeannine xo
P.S. I have found great comfort from seeking out beauty in our world, feeling love in my heart for such things, and deciding, this is the world where I choose to live. I hope there is joy where you are today. Have a beautiful day!
