July 4th arrived and has gone, but not before we managed to pack the back of the SUV with ribs, potato salad, beans, and corn, and head out to see fireworks in the cool, summer night air. It was lovely being with family to celebrate. I hope you had a relaxing holiday as well.
The house is quiet this morning. Teenagers, who are staying up until early morning some nights now, are just beginning to stir. The only noise here is the hum of the computer and the birds outside the window.
I've been knitting a little the past couple days, and watching birds in the yard as I plant flowers. I've noticed they call and warn each other when the cat stretches out next to me, and I find the display to be quite amusing.
I've been wanting to make this for a while now, so I ordered the yarn, and casted on. It's a near bulky weight yarn, which is always great for a fast knit, but not as comfortable as lighter yarns to work with as you may know. The stitch definition makes it worth the little extra effort though. I especially love the look of the Ramona Cardigan with a skirt.
The fabric bowl was made and gifted to me by my beautiful, talented, generous, and dear friend Diana, whom I met right here! This post is dedicated in sweet memory of her and our friendship. Jeannine
