Hello! I hope this weekend is treating you well! I’m wondering if there are barbecues planned, quiet knitting time, gardening perhaps? What ever it is, if you are at home, it must be somewhat lovely. Sweet tea would certainly go good with any of the above as well! We’ve had a big pot on the stove all weekend.
Yesterday I had to work at the away from home job, and I thought I’d be there early enough to visit with you, but realized when I grabbed the bags I take with me, my computer was not in the bunch, even though it was packed and ready to go the night before. sigh.
Later in the day, I knit for a little while on socks for Kayla, and I like the feel and color of the yarn. I think she will too. I also worked on one of my "almost finished” shawls, and counted forty rows to go, so it should be done soon.
The meals this weekend have been what ever I can whip up quick, but I put my heart into it all the same. I’m so grateful for gathering time together, for the peace in my home, for good food. So cloth napkins with pizza bread? Yes, why not! My son asked, “How do you clean these?” My husband said, “Don’t mess them up.” And we laughed. I am happy to have stained napkins, if it means we had the opportunity to use them in the first place:)
I grew up with a beautiful Magnolia tree outside my front door. It’s long been a favorite of mine and my daughter’s too, ever since she loved Grandma’s magnolia. The fragrant dinner-plate size flowers are such a gorgeous creation. Even the name is beautiful, isn’t it though? I’ve been waiting for this one to bloom and I was excited this morning to see that it had.
Well then, Happy Memorial Day to you! To all of you who have served our country, spent time waiting while someone you loved served, or lost someone special who has served, I’m truly thinking about you today. I said a special prayer for you last night, as I rested in bed, safe and secure in my home because of your sacrifice. Thank you so much! Have a happy day friends. Jeannine xo
