Happy sweet, Saturday to you!
Late yesterday afternoon, I took a drive along the river to see what I could see. The river is high from all the rain. My husband and boys have played on dry land before, right in the middle of where all that water is now. I took a few photos, and hurried home to hungry boys.
After a simple dinner of baked fish and Au Gratin potatoes, I found myself in a quiet house. I noticed my husband had fallen asleep while trying to watch a movie after a hard day’s work, Jordan was engulfed in a re-read of Harry Potter, and the older boys were content playing games. So I pulled out my cutting mat, made a cup of hot tea, and cut fabric for the new quilt. It will be the star pattern I shared on the last post. A trip to the fabric store will be necessary to buy some matching solids and light grays for the background color. I’m looking forward to quiet evenings and hot summer days, piecing it together in the cool of the house.
This morning, I poured a cup of steamy coffee, and in the early morning glow, I started a new shawl. After seeing Ginny’s over at Small Things, and seeing how it looked in green on Ravelry, I knew it would be just right for the Budding Apple yarn that was still in my basket.
Today will be much like yesterday, quiet, simple, and time spent with family, nature, fabric, yarn, and homemade food. It’s all quite perfect really.
I hope your Saturday, and this holiday weekend brings you joy, happiness, and love. Wishing you a beautiful day friends! Jeannine xo
