Happy Tuesday! Is that okay to say? I guess if we are here and well, then it must be, even if the weekend seems a bit too far off.
I was interested in making a little embroidered picture to frame and hang on the wall. I drew up a petite pattern. I had never made little embroidered roses before though, so I watched a few videos and learned the roses are made from the Bullion stitch. I thought it would be difficult, but after a practice run or two, it was pretty easy. The thing I love about embroidery is that it builds on itself. More stitching can be added until there is as much or as little detail as desired, much like a painting. So the drawing on the linen is a rough draft. The details will emerge as I go and I look forward to seeing what will happen to this single, tiny rose.
The geese were at a pond yesterday near my home. I saw them as I drove by and had to turn around. I do have a fondness for fluffy, baby creatures. I would have loved to toss a blanket on the ground, up on the hill, and sit with my knitting watching them all day. And if we were sitting there together to chat and look at baby geese while we knit, well that would be the best, would it not?! Instead, it was a quick photo before somebody honked at me and I don’t mean a goose, but the small line of cars behind me.
And then there are purple flowers, a true gift. Oh this world of ours, gifts of nature are just about everywhere.
Have a beautiful day friends. I have a new book to share with you tomorrow. I’ll put on tea! I can’t wait, because this book is quite unlike any other I have seen;) Jeannine xo
