Today is homeschool network day. It's a bit of a drive, so I'll be spending the day away from home, near the school. This is both a treat and some folly. There is a lot to do at home and I could get a lot done if I was there. Yesterday, on a whim, spring cleaning began. Not scrubbing mind you, but a gathering of winter items and tubs to tuck them. Tucking away began, and it felt so good to see small stacks of heavy sweats and sweaters from all about the family room, gone for now. My son Nolan, being the realist he is (xo Nolan), said, "Mom, we are going to need those, in about two days, as soon as cold weather comes again." To which I responded something like, "I'll be keeping this in the corner just in case, but it's March!" I'm sure he's right. ha. I should be home cleaning and tucking today, but I've been really busy lately, so I'm gifting myself a day of not looking at all of that, and a day away from the responsibility.
So, this morning finds me at the coffee shop with a lovely little magazine and a new ball of hand painted yarn. I casted on a Sonatina shawl, and I think it's lovely, but I'll have to add to the finished edge so it doesn't roll like the picture shows. I'm really surprised i grabbed another ball of blue yarn, it seems blue is growing on me. (I'll include yarn information next time I post.)
Last night, while I was binding off my Oaklet shawl, I was a bit suspicious, and at the same time hopeful, but to no avail, I ran out of yarn half way across. I'm hoping I can order a mini skein of the yarn. I am not thrilled that I have to add a new piece on. I won't bother with concern though, for there are more shawls to be made and it will only be a few days to wait for yarn.
Rain and a chill are sticking around today and while the flowers will benefit, I am really wishing for a big change of season right about now.
Have you seen these books? Well, if you give a kid a tub of strawberries, he's going to want a shortcake to go with it. So shortcake it was! (I use the recipe on the Bisquick box.) It makes a really good, sweet, shortcake. The only thing I like better is this, and maybe replacing the store bought cake with homemade;)
Well dear friends, thank you for visiting today. I wish you a happy Thursday and a quiet evening with people and/or yarn, you love. Jeannine:)
