Happy Sunday to you!
I’m finishing up the first of my daughter’s socks. (Sorry for another picture of the same pair.) These socks were an effort to find or adapt a vanilla sock pattern to use regualarly, and I think I have. I want to get comfortable knitting socks. I’ve knit them before and didn’t have any trouble finishing, but I realized as I was knitting these, it’s the cumbersome needles that slow me down.
One thing that has helped me this time though, was switching from wooden to metal needles. I do find that has helped me knit a little faster on this pair. I haven’t tried the other ways of knitting socks, like magic loop, or two at a time. For now, I think I’ll stick with double pointed needles. I’ll keep making socks, casting on another pair soon, and I’m sure I'll get more comfortable with practice. That decision led to a yarn purchase of course. Oh, and more needles!
As I watered the dry cracked earth of my garden yesterday, I thought I heard the faint sound of distant thunder. Thinking I was mistaken, I didn’t bother to look up at first. Later, I saw clouds rolling in and in the late afternoon, a good soaking rain came. Today is bright, sunny, and beautiful!
I’m thinking of all of you this morning, and I’m wondering what this day has in store for you. I hope you are happy and well today! Jeannine xo
