Hello! Happy Saturday to you! Are you as happy as I, to have reached this weekend? I'd like to think that Saturdays were made especially for knitting, sewing, and baking!
It’s raining here today and that’s perfectly fine with me. I will be content all day with tea, new yarn, and sewing quilt blocks. I received a lavender yarn through my yarn club, and I also ordered extra skeins for projects I have in progress. I’ll likely have extra after finishing now, and that will be fine too, because there is plenty I could do with the likes of that! (Hats, baby socks, and leg warmers for a friend come to mind.) May I ask you what you think? Should this purple skein, be socks or a shawl? I always find it hard to choose.
I’ve been waiting for Saturday all week, because I knew today would be the only day I'd have time to go to the fabric store. I’ll be choosing the solids and background fabric for the quilt I’m starting, and because the cutting for this quilt is very easy, I'm sure I’ll be able to start sewing this afternoon. I haven’t sat at my machine for a while, so it will make me quite happy to do so (sew).
Food is always on my mind, whether I'm thinking about eating, planning what needs to be done to get dinner on the table for five people each night, or dreaming about what I would like to bake, because making beautiful food is one way I express my love to my family. So today I’ll be making peach and lemon pies, and some other lovely things for this weekend. I’ll be celebrating just us being together. I can’t think of a better reason to celebrate.
I hope you have a perfectly peaceful weekend friends. xo Jeannine
