Today I find myself in the middle of mopping the floors, putting things away, running to the market, and setting up the table for a gathering of friends and family this evening. But I thought I would stop for just a moment to visit with you. Last night before I allowed myself to think about all that had to be done, I sat and knit some of the lovely things in my basket at the moment. That feeling of calm will get me through the rush this morning.
Yesterday I tackled our bookshelves that hold all the homeschooling, crafts, and mama books, that have piled up in recent weeks. It looks so much better now. I’ll share what’s there in a few days. As I went through the books there, I ran across a prayer journal that I started quite a while ago, and I thought I’d share a page.
A prayer journal can be a great creative outlet, a place to write your hopes, prayers, and concerns, and I find it to be a special place where God and I meet. Writing here gives me a real sense of peace. Anyone can make one, with their own ideas and faith background. This is the smallest size binder, about 8 x 6. There is lined paper, tabs and plastic sleeves for pictures. I put anything in here that defines who I am and what I’m thankful for.
I’m off now to rush for several hours, (whoa, not my style, but must be done.) Then tonight I’ll be thrilled to have my daughter and son-in-law and friends here. It’s been too long since we have seen each other.
It’s cloudy with rain in the forecast today. A nice change from the heat the past few days.
I hope you have a lovely day today friends, and an evening of peace and joy tonight. Jeannine xo
